“My GP says my skin tags are harmless and won’t remove them but I find them uncomfortable and embarrassing. Is there anything you can do?”
Liz, 44, from Norwich
Charlotte’s Reply
Liz, this is something we hear all the time at Charisma. You’re absolutely right, while GPs are correct that skin tags are medically harmless, that doesn’t mean they’re not a problem. We see women (and men) every week who feel self-conscious, irritated or even in pain because of skin tags, especially when they rub on bras, catch on clothing, or are on the face or neck.
I had one myself, in quite an intimate area, and I know first-hand how frustrating it can be. It’s easy to brush off as “just a small thing,” but when it’s affecting your confidence or daily comfort, it matters. And you deserve to feel comfortable in your own skin.
Unfortunately, most GP surgeries have stopped offering skin tag removal on the NHS because it’s classed as cosmetic but we can help here at the salon.
We offer Advanced Cosmetic Procedures (ACP) with advanced therapists, using a precise technique called Electrolysis. It’s quick, safe, and performed in a private, welcoming environment. Most skin tags are gone in a single session and it’s life-changing for so many clients.
Here’s a quick breakdown of our ACP pricing so you can see what to expect:
- First Appointment Consultation & Initial Treatment (30 mins) – £120
This includes:
- A full skin consultation
- Expert assessment of the concern
- Treatment started within the same session (time allowing)
- Bespoke aftercare advice
You’ll always start with a consultation first (included within the appointment time), so we can assess your skin and make sure it’s suitable.
We also remove:
- Skin tags
- Milia (tiny white spots)
- Cherry angiomas (red blood spots)
- Seborrheic keratoses
- Facial thread veins
So whether it’s something on your face, neck, chest, underarms or a more delicate area, we’ve got you covered.
Hope that helps Liz. You can view our full details on further treatment at https://www.charismanorwich.co.uk/advanced-cosmetic-procedures
When you are ready to book please let me know and I can help you make your appointment.
Much Love

Skin Tag Removal Norwich – What You Need to Know
Do skin tags bother you? You’re not alone and you’re absolutely not being silly for wanting them gone.
Here at Charisma Beauty & Skincare in Norwich, we speak to women (and men) every single week who feel self-conscious, irritated, or just plain fed up with skin tags. And yet, when they go to their GP, they’re often told:
“It’s cosmetic we don’t remove them anymore.”
Let me tell you something that might surprise you…
Just because something isn’t “medically necessary” doesn’t mean it isn’t affecting your confidence, your comfort, or your mental wellbeing.
So if you’ve been looking into skin tag removal in Norwich and wondering what your options are, this is your complete guide.
What Are Skin Tags?
Skin tags are small, soft growths that often appear on the neck, underarms, chest, eyelids, groin or anywhere the skin folds or rubs. They’re usually flesh-coloured or slightly darker, and while they’re totally harmless, they can be:
- Visibly annoying (especially around the face or neck)
- Easily caught on clothing or jewellery
- Rubbed raw by bras, straps, or waistbands
- A knock to your confidence, particularly in intimate areas
Many of our clients tell us they’ve had skin tags for years but didn’t realise how quick and simple it could be to have them removed professionally.
Why GPs Don’t Remove Skin Tags Anymore
For years, GPs would remove skin tags in clinic but unfortunately, this is no longer the case for most NHS practices. Unless your skin tag is medically dangerous (which is extremely rare), it’s now considered a cosmetic issue and not something they can offer treatment for.
And that’s where Charisma Norwich can help.
Skin Tag Removal at Charisma – Safe, Quick & Effective
We offer Advanced Cosmetic Procedures (ACP), carried out by trained, experienced professionals using a precise form of electrolysis.
Here’s how it works:
✅ A tiny probe delivers a short burst of electrical energy directly to the base of the skin tag
✅ This cauterises the blood supply, causing the tag to dry, shrink, and fall off naturally
✅ It’s minimally invasive, highly targeted, and usually leaves no scarring
In most cases, the skin tag is removed in just one session. Some larger tags may take a couple of treatments to fully shrink, but we’ll always advise you in your consultation.

- Thread Veins (especially on the cheeks or nose)
- Warts & Dermatosis Papulosa Nigra
We always begin with a full skin consultation to assess your suitability and ensure you’re in safe hands.
Is Skin Tag Removal Painful?
Not really, most clients describe it as a warm prickly sensation. The area may be a little red or sensitive immediately after, but this usually settles within a day or two.
We’ll give you full aftercare advice, and you’re always welcome to message us with questions after your appointment.
My Personal Story
I had a skin tag myself, in quite a private place. I know how uncomfortable and awkward it can feel.
It’s not something you want to talk about over coffee with your friends… but it’s real. And I wanted it gone.
Getting it removed was quick, safe, and honestly, a relief. I felt more confident, more comfortable and a little bit more “me” again.
That’s why I’m so passionate about offering this treatment at Charisma. Because these “small” things? They matter.
